Davis struck out one in a perfect ninth inning Wednesday to pick up his ninth save of the season in a 7-5 win over the Reds.

That's now 18 straight appearances without an earned run allowed this season for Davis, who's been everything the Cubs could have hoped for when they acquired him from the Royals. The reigning champs have hovered around .500 all season, but assuming Chicago goes on a tear over the summer, Davis could begin to see more frequent save opportunities to go with his outstanding performance.
