Diamondbacks catcher Gerald Laird (back) will throw Thursday for the first time in eight weeks, according to MLB.com. He will then hit in a few weeks and targets a return to action after the All-Star break.
Laird has been sidelined since early April. He appeared in just one game before undergoing back surgery in late April.
