Jay was one of the outfielders mentioned by Arizona manager Torey Lovullo on Monday as a replacement for Kole Calhoun (illness), Nick Piecoro of the Arizona Republic reports.

The Diamondbacks announced that Calhoun, the team's projected starter in right field, tested positive for COVID-19 and will be in quarantine. With just over two weeks before the start of the season, the Diamondbacks are not sure when Calhoun can return, so Lovullo provided the name of potential fill-ins. Jay is on the short list along with Josh Rojas and Trayce Thompson.
