Gurriel went 1-for-1 with a solo home run in Sunday's loss to the Pirates.
Gurriel made his only plate appearance as a pinch hitter in the 10th and took Colin Holderman deep to left to bring the Diamondbacks within a run, though they would fall short there. The long ball was his first since July 6 and his 14th of the year. It also snapped a nine-game streak of no RBI for the 30-year-old. Gurriel has notched a hit in six straight games and in 16-of-19 games he's appeared in this month. For the year, he's slashing .267/.295/.418 with 57 RBI, 49 runs, five steals and a 14:82 BB:K in 410 plate appearances.
