Gonzalez (elbow) returned to the lineup Monday, going 0-for-2 as the Dodgers designated hitter in a loss to the Rockies.
This was the plan all along for Gonzalez after he suffered a minor elbow injury at the start of spring training. The next step is for him to man first base in the field, which he is expected to do Tuesday against the Giants. If Tuesday's start goes without a hitch, then Gonzalez will join Team Mexico in the WBC.
