Baez (groin) threw two innings Wednesday and is likely to be activated over the weekend, Ken Gurnick of MLB.com reports.
Baez had a successful simulated game Sunday, and manager Dave Roberts was optimistic that his return is imminent after he faced live hitters Wednesday. The right-hander has been dealing with a right groin strain since Aug. 20, but he now appears to be near full health.
