Johnson was added to the Giants' 40-man roster Friday, Alex Pavlovic of CSN Bay Area reports.
The final numbers for Johnson in 2016 look rather pedestrian but he was significantly better after transitioning to the bullpen in late May, posting a 2.30 ERA, 1.09 WHIP and 16:5 K:BB in 15.2 innings. He turned in eight straight scoreless appearances for Double-A Richmond to close the season.
