Robertson was optioned to the alternate training site Tuesday, Kerry Crowley of The San Jose Mercury News reports.

The 26-year-old was called up by the Giants in early September shortly after being acquired from the Rays, and he went 3-for-13 with two runs and two RBI in six appearances. Robertson could rejoin the club later on when more infield depth is needed.
