Span is not in the lineup for Friday's game against the Diamondbacks, according to Henry Schulman of the San Francisco Chronicle.
Manager Bruce Bochy is going with a righty-heavy lineup against Arizona southpaw Robbie Ray on Friday night, so Span will sit out for the second time in three days. Orlando Calixte will get the nod in center field in Span's place.
