Long was optioned to Triple-A Sacramento on Sunday, Kerry Crowley of The San Jose Mercury News reports.
Long allowed two runs (one earned) on a hit and two walks during Saturday's loss to the Dodgers, and he'll head to the minors in favor of a fresh bullpen arm. The 26-year-old has a 5.72 ERA, 1.30 WHIP and 38:15 K:BB across 39.1 major-league innings this season.
