Guyer (wrist) will begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Columbus on Friday.

The veteran outfielder was initially tabbed to miss 4-to-6 weeks due to this wrist injury, and beginning a rehab assignment Friday could allow him to return within that time frame. There's been no word on how long Guyer will remain with the Clippers, although the Indians may opt to keep him on the assignment a bit longer than usual since there currently is not a roster spot open for him in Cleveland. Austin Jackson and Daniel Robertson have been serviceable in the outfield platoon roles, so Guyer certainly isn't guaranteed a spot in the big leagues once he's ready to return.
