Indians' Jason Kipnis: Remains on track for Sunday return
Manager Terry Francona said Friday that "all signs point" to Kipnis (hamstring) returning to action Sunday, Ryan Lewis of the Akron Beacon Journal reports.
It was previously reported that Kipnis could both return Sunday and play the outfield if he did, and Friday's reports increases the likelihood of both, as Francona indicated the plan is for Kipnis to get five innings in center field Sunday. It's not clear if Kipnis will see all his time in the outfield moving forward, but the Indians seemingly prefer Jose Ramirez to play second base rather than third, so it would be surprising if he saw at least most of his action out there.
