Indians' Jason Kipnis: Will return Sunday

Kipnis (hamstring) will be reinstated from the 10-day DL prior to Sunday's game against the Royals, Ryan Lewis of the Akron Beacon Journal reports.

It was expected that Kipnis would be able to return for the series finale, but manager Terry Francona officially gave him the "go-ahead" to return to the club for Sunday's contest. Kipnis has been on the disabled list since Aug. 23, and he'll likely see a majority of his time in the outfield moving forward, beginning with five innings Sunday. Over the course of the season, he's hitting .228/.285/.409 with 11 home runs and 30 RBI in 79 games.
