Plesac (9-4) picked up a win, pitching seven scoreless innings while giving up two hits and no walks in Tuesday's win over the Royals. He struck out seven.
The 26-year-old was sharp in this start, limiting the damage to a first-inning single by Whit Merrifield and a fourth-inning Nicky Lopez double. It was his first scoreless start since May 7 versus the Reds and the starter had struggled to an ERA of 6.33 over his prior five starts in August. He'll look to build on his success from this outing in his next one, tentatively lined up for Sunday in Boston.
