Westbrook was released by the Giants on Friday, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.

After signing with the Giants in January as a non-roster invitee, Westbrook went 4-for-12 with three runs and one RBI in Cactus League play before spring training was suspended. The 25-year-old hit 16 home runs with 77 RBI and 83 strikeouts over 128 games in the Diamondbacks' farm system last year prior to suffering a knee injury in August, but he has yet to make his major-league debut.
