Benoit has recovered from the calf injury that ended his 2016 season and is looking to pitch in 2017, Sportsnet's Ben Nicholson-Smith reports.

He is back to running and is ready to entertain free agent offers. The 39-year-old righty will undoubtedly sign somewhere on a major league deal, as he notched a 2.81 ERA and posted a 25.5 percent strikeout rate in 48 innings last season for the Mariners and Blue Jays. However, at this stage in his career, it seems unlikely that he would enter spring training as more than a setup option.
