Peraza was outrighted by the Red Sox on Wednesday and elected free agency.
Peraza was a likely non-tender candidate heading into the offseason, but he'll become a free agent after refusing his outright assignment. The 26-year-old began the 2020 season on the major-league roster but was sent to the alternate training site in September to give Christian Arroyo more playing time at second base. Peraza hit .225 with one home run and eight RBI over 111 at-bats in 2020.
