Caminero allowed four runs (one earned), four hits and a walk in two-thirds of an inning Friday to turn a rout into a close game that forced the Mariners to use two more pitchers, including closer Edwin Diaz.

In Caminero's defense, he should have been out of the inning with only one run scoring -- and that came on a double-play -- but an error kept the inning alive. He then gave up a double, a single and a walk and was yanked. Two more runs scored after he left. Caminero throws in the high-90s and touches 100 mph, but lately he has not been reliable. In his last nine outings (8.2 innings), he's allowed 17 hits, 13 runs, four walks (one intentional) and two homers with six strikeouts.
