Altavilla worked 1.1 scoreless innings in Friday's 5-2 loss to the Astros, allowing no hits or walks while recording three strikeouts.

He got four outs on an efficient 15 pitches, 12 of which he threw for strikes. Altavilla disposed of the imposing quartet of Alex Bregman, Jose Altuve, Carlos Correa and Marwin Gonzalez, leading to his fifth straight scoreless effort. The 25-year-old right-hander had his share of ups and downs in earlier big-league stints this season, but he's already lowered his ERA from 5.19 to 4.54 with this most recent stretch of success.
