Mariners' Felix Hernandez: Plays light catch Monday

Hernandez (shoulder) played light catch Monday without setbacks, Greg Johns of MLB.com reports.

The 31-year-old thus continues on track to return to action sometime next week. Hernandez has been sidelined since exiting an April 25 start against the Tigers with what was subsequently diagnosed as bursitis, and he'll look to regain both power and command upon his return. In his five starts in 2017, Hernandez has posted a career-low 7.2 K/9 while also generating a 3.8 BB/9 that's the most bloated of his 12-plus major-league seasons.
