Haniger will bat second against the Astros on Tuesday, Greg Johns of MLB.com reports.
Haniger was in the two-hole against lefty Dallas Keuchel on Opening Day and he'll remain there against right-hander Lance McCullers, with Jarrod Dyson once again batting out of the No. 9 spot. It remains to be seen how long manager Scott Servais will stick with this arrangement. Haniger, who hit .385/.429/.628 during Cactus League play, went 0-for-3 with a walk and a strikeout in his official Mariners debut.
