Mariners' Mitch Haniger: Stays hot in loss
Haniger went 3-for-4 with a double and a two-run home run in Monday's 5-3 loss to the Rangers.
Haniger got the Mariners to within a run with his 365-foot shot to left in the third, his second round tripper in the last three games. The slugging outfielder was slumping for a while, but he's lately returned to the caliber of effort he was providing early in the season, as he's slashing .489/.489/.889 with a .573 wOBA and .273 wRC+ over the 45 plate appearances he's seen since Aug. 30. The torrid stretch, which includes seven multi-hit efforts, has allowed Haniger to raise his season average 38 points to .278.
