Volquez (0-6) gave up five earned runs on eight hits and three walks over six innings in Thursday's 7-2 loss to the Dodgers. He struck out four.

The veteran right-hander got into plenty of trouble over the first three innings, during which he gave up all five of his runs. Volquez did fire six full frames for the second straight start, but control continues to be an issue. The 33-year-old issued multiple walks for the sixth straight outing and his 5.9 BB/9 is his highest since his rookie 2005 campaign. Volquez will try for his first victory once again in a Tuesday road start against Oakland.
