Luzardo (5-8) allowed four earned runs on seven hits and two walks while striking out one and walking two across 4.1 innings to take the loss Tuesday against the Nationals.

Luzardo was betrayed by his defense to account for one of his earned runs, but he also had moments of being hit hard by the Nationals. He surrendered a solo shot to Ryan Zimmerman in the second inning and was tagged for two earned runs in the fifth frame after allowing three consecutive hits. While not a truly disastrous outing, Luzardo entered the game having allowed only five earned runs across his last 17.1 innings while racking up 19 strikeouts as compared to seven walks. For the season, Luzardo has a 6.80 ERA with an 80:42 K:BB across 82 frames.
