Diaz went a combined 1-for-6 with a two-run home run and a walk while starting in both ends of Tuesday's doubleheader loss to the Mets.

Diaz's fourth-inning blast off Marcus Stroman accounted for the Marlins' only runs in the first game of the twin bill. With Jesus Aguilar (knee) shut down for the season, Diaz will continue filling an everyday role at first base in Miami's final five games. The 26-year-old rookie is batting .257 with five home runs, 10 runs and eight RBI in 19 games since his Sept. 8 call-up from Triple-A Jacksonville.
