Diaz will be optioned to Triple-A Jacksonville after serving as the 27th man for Tuesday night's makeshift doubleheader against the Mets, Jordan McPherson of the Miami Herald reports.

Diaz received the start at first base for the nightcap and will head back to Triple-A after going 0-for-3 in his one-game stint in the majors. The 24-year-old could receive another look in the big leagues down the stretch, but he's struggled so far in 16 games with a .121/.171/.394 slash line.
