Marlins' Martin Prado: Hamstring injury proves to be severe

Prado has been diagnosed with a Grade 1 hamstring strain and could miss the first month of the season or more, The Miami Herald reports. "I want to make sure that I'm 100 percent and not trying to rush this," Prado said Saturday. "First of all, I just have to get pain-free running. That's our main goal now and after that be strong enough to hold up with a healthy hamstring."

He was injured Wednesday during WBC play, and the 33-year-old will now be forced to miss the early part of the regular season. Derek Dietrich and Miguel Rojas will split time at third base while Prado is on the shelf.
