Reyes went 2-for-4 with a pair of home runs in a losing effort Monday against the Dodgers.

Despite the surprising power show against ace left-hander Clayton Kershaw, Reyes is still hitting below the Mendoza Line in the midst of one of the worst seasons of his career. This could be a sign of a turnaround, however, as he's collected three of his six homers on the campaign in the past week and is hitting .292 in that span. He's entrenched at shortstop for the time being with all the injuries plaguing the Mets' infield, and if Reyes can continue playing well in this extended opportunity, he could keep top prospect Amed Rosario trapped in the minor leagues for a little longer.
