Mets' Patrick Mazeika: Sent to Triple-A

Mazeika was optioned to Triple-A Syracuse on Thursday.

The 28-year-old has been serving as New York's backup catcher for the past month, but he'll return to the minors with James McCann (oblique) being activated from the 10-day injured list. Mazeika has a .508 OPS across 72 plate appearances in the big leagues this year.
