Rivera agreed Tuesday with the Mets on a minor-league contract, Bob Nightengale of USA Today reports.

Rivera's deal includes an invitation to big-league spring training and will be worth $1 million if he makes the Mets' Opening Day roster. The defensive-minded backstop made nine appearances for the Mets in 2019 but spent the majority of the campaign at Triple-A Syracuse.
