Michael Taylor misses out on roster

The Oakland Athletics pared down their roster Sunday, optioning outfielders Grant Green and Michael Taylor to Triple-A Sacramento. Both players were in the running for a spot on the opening day roster this spring, but could make an appearance with the parent club at some point during the season.

The Athletics also reassigned pitcher Brian Gordon, catcher Dave Freitas, first baseman Scott Moore, shortstop Dawrin Perez and outfielder Michael Choice to their minor-league camp.
