Nathan Eovaldi: Released by Yankees

Eovaldi (elbow) was released by the Yankees on Monday.

Eovaldi was serviceable during his two-year stint as a member of the Yankees rotation, but after undergoing Tommy John surgery in August (and effectively ending his chances of pitching in 2017), the Yankees saw no reason to keep him around. The 26-year-old could be an enticing option for teams looking for an inexpensive and young pitcher if they're willing to wait a year for his services, though.
