Cole (2-5) allowed three runs on seven hits and two walks while striking out five over five innings in a losing effort against the Dodgers on Saturday.

This wasn't a disaster, but it wasn't an encouraging performance either, as Cole served up a home run and also hit two batters. With a 4.43 ERA, 1.59 WHIP and 37:23 K:BB over 42.2 innings this year, Cole doesn't have much of a case for future starts, but the Nationals could always give him another opportunity or two down the stretch as they look to get their frontline starters well rested ahead of the NLDS.
