Romero gave up three hits while striking out one over 1.2 innings Saturday against the Mets to pick up his second save of the season.

His other save came back on May 4, so this isn't much of a trend, and he also has two blown saves despite being used in save situations infrequently. That said, he has not allowed a run and has struck out 17 over his past 12 innings. Matt Albers, who last gave up three runs in 0.2 innings back on June 12, was imminently available, but manager Dusty Baker decided to leave Romero in to close out the game. It is possible that Romero could be called upon again in a save situation while Koda Glover (back stiffness) is on the DL.
