Rumbelow (elbow) was released by the Yankees on Monday.

Rumbelow was competing for a bullpen role at the major league level prior to undergoing Tommy John surgery in April, but between his unavailability for the start of 2017 and his middling performance over the past couple seasons, the Yankees decided to cut ties with the right-hander. The 25-year-old does have a bit of major league experience as well as a strong tendency to miss bats, so he could garner a bit of intrigue on the free agent market if teams are willing to wait a bit while his elbow recovers.
