Vielma was optioned to Triple-A Norfolk on Tuesday.
Jonathan Schoop came off the disabled list Tuesday, resulting in Vielma returning to Norfolk. Vielma has appeared in just six games in the majors this season, going 1-for-7 with four strikeouts in that time.
