Fry was optioned to Triple-A Norfolk on Thursday, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports.
Fry hadn't allowed a run since the start of May, as he had tossed five scoreless frames over his last five appearances. However, the southpaw will be sent down to make room for Rylan Bannon, who was recalled since the Orioles need an additional position player for Thursday's game against the Cardinals.
