Richard (7-14) took the loss against the Rockies on Friday, giving up four runs on seven hits and three walks over six innings while striking out three.

All four runs scored in the second inning, after which the veteran lefty settled down and gave the Padres a chance to come back -- a chance their sluggish offense squandered in a 6-1 defeat. Richard's 5.04 ERA and 1.56 WHIP since the All-Star break are unappealing fantasy numbers, and he'll be a risky play in his next start Wednesday at home against the Diamondbacks.
