Richard allowed just two runs on five hits and three walks while striking out three batters over 6.1 innings during Monday's loss to the Cubs. He didn't factor into the decision.

Richard is piling up innings for the Padres, but he's hardly moving the fantasy needle with a 4.20 ERA, 1.41 WHIP and 6.4 K/9. His game-to-game inconsistency also makes him tough to peg as a steaming option or as a potential low-priced flier in daily contests, so the lefty is likely best ignored outside of deep leagues. Richard projects to face the Tigers at Petco Park in his next start.
