Mitch Moreland will take over at first base as Austin Nola serves as the DH against lefty Drew Smyly. Hosmer has been hitting since his return from a finger injury Sept. 19 (.280 average) and will end the regular season with a career-high slugging percentage after never previously clearing .500 in his career.
