Cahill (shoulder) is scheduled to face hitters in a simulated game Thursday, Dennis Lin of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.

Cahill has been sidelined for over a month with the strained shoulder, so even if he checks out fine during Thursday's activity, he'll still need to make at least one rehab start before rejoining the Padres. In a best-case scenario, Cahill will come off the disabled list in early July, but it may be wiser for fantasy owners to plan for a return shortly before the All-Star break until the organization indicates otherwise.
