Webb was designated for assignment by the Padres on Sunday, Bill Center of MLB.com reports.
Webb had allowed seven runs in five innings for the Padres earlier in the season. He has a 2.05 ERA in 22 innings for Triple-A El Paso. If he passes through waivers, he'll likely return to the Padres to pitch at the same level.
