Phillies pitcher Jonathan Pettibone was activated from the 60-day DL and outrighted from the 40-man roster Wednesday, MLB.com reports.
The Phillies apparently didn't think Pettibone had recovered well enough from his second shoulder surgery in less than a year, ultimately outrighting their former third-round pick after just 20 career appearances with the club. He will likely continue rehabbing his shoulder in the minors, if no team claims the 25-year-old.
