Rios was optioned to Triple-A Lehigh Valley after Tuesday's game.
Zach Eflin will be recalled to start Wednesday's game, so the Phillies needed to clear a spot for him on the roster. Rios gave up two runs while striking out three over 1.1 innings in this latest brief stint with the big club. He will likely be back up when rosters expand in September.
