Cole (11-10) was saddled with the loss in Tuesday's game against the Brewers. He allowed five runs on seven hits and two walks while striking out 10 over six innings.

Cole tallied a season-high 10 strikeouts, but was undone by a rough third inning in which he allowed four runs on four hits and a walk. He was able to navigate through the next three frames with no further damage, but was stuck with the loss as the Pirates' offense was only able to muster up two runs on the night. Cole has now allowed five earned runs in three of his last five starts and his ERA now sits at a very pedestrian 4.04. He lines up for a road matchup with the Reds on Sunday.
