Pirates' Jung Ho Kang: Lands on DL with shoulder injury

Kang was placed on the 15-day DL on Saturday because of a left shoulder injury he suffered when sliding into second base Friday night, the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette's Bill Brink reports. He is expected to miss 2-4 weeks.

Josh Bell will be recalled from Triple-A in a corresponding move, with David Freese presumably taking over at third base and Bell getting a good deal of the starts at first base. Kang's owners will need to make the difficult decision of whether or not to hold onto him in single-season leagues, as there are only six weeks remaining in the season.
