Rangers' Adrian Sampson: Outrighted to Triple-A
Sampson (elbow) was outrighted to Triple-A Round Rock on Friday.
A flexor strain put Sampson on the shelf in June and he ultimately underwent season-ending surgery. He was claimed off waivers from Seattle earlier this month. What Sampson lacks in terms of swing-and-miss stuff he makes up for to a significant extent with sharp control (1.9 BB/9 in minors). Further, he's just 25, so the door is by no means closed for an eventual return to the major leagues.
