Cashner (1-3) gave up two runs on eight hits and a walk over seven innings in Wednesday's 9-3 win over the Phillies. He struck out two.

The Rangers turned three double plays behind him, and Cashner took a shutout into the seventh inning before Michael Saunders ruined the party with a two-run homer. The 30-year-old righty has now delivered quality starts in five of his last six trips to the mound, and while Cashner's 91.9 mph average fastball and 4.2 K/9 are shadows of the numbers he put up in his Padres heyday, he's finding a way to produce results with his diminished raw stuff. He'll face a tough test Tuesday on the road against the Red Sox.
