Cashner (oblique) said that he's optimistic that he'll miss only one or two starts after he was placed on the 10-day disabled list Saturday, Stefan Stevenson of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports.

Cole Hamels and A.J. Griffin remain on the disabled list with oblique injuries of their own, but based on everything Cashner has cleaned from team trainers, his issue isn't considered as serious as his fellow rotation mates'. Cashner acknowledged that he was still experiencing some soreness on his left side, which he'll attempt to remedy by resting over the next few days. Nick Martinez is expected to take the hill the next time Cashner's turn in the rotation comes up Tuesday against the Blue Jays, but if Cashner is able to resume throwing later in the week, he could receive clearance to make his subsequent start.
