Rangers' Delino DeShields Jr.: Reaches base three times in leadoff role
DeShields went 2-for-3 with a walk and a run in Friday's 5-3 victory over the Tigers.
Regular designated hitter Shin-Soo Choo received the night off Friday with lefty Daniel Norris twirling for the Tigers, so DeShields moved atop the lineup after having served as the No. 9 hitter in the previous two contests. DeShields was able to spark the offense in reaching base three times, and should make for an attractive, cost-effective option in DFS contests nearly every time he slots into the table-setting role. Those in season-long leagues who have kept DeShields active lately have also reaped the benefits, as he's turned in four multi-hit efforts in his last six starts.
